Metallic filter cloth

The fibre free metallic filter cloth offers a longer lifetime and higher productivity and is available for most vertical scraper centrifuges from Ferrum. Switching back to synthetic filter cloths is possible at any time.

Fiber-free

The metallic filter cloth shows several advantages compared to standard filter cloths in PP or E-CTFE:

  • No fibres in the product
  • Filter cloth is endless, thinner filter cloths can be installed over-lapping
  • Improved residual heel removal
  • Lower product adherence to filter cloth because the cloth and product do not intertwine
  • No changes in the cloth characteristics (PP filter cloths are more temperature sensitive as well as to certain solvents)
  • Tests have shown a much higher service life
  • Lower costs compared to the version with sintered filter basket and removable basket brim
  • Can be installed in all Ferrum scraper centrifuges
  • No mechanical adjustments to the standard baskets required (for 10 mm drainage holes)
  • Changing back to PP filter cloths possible at any time

Disadvantages

  • Possible slight coloration of the filter cloth at the welding seam
  • For the "endless" version, the basket must be individually measured with Ferrum measuring tape to assure correct fit
