Inauguration of ferruBase – The State-Of-The-Art Extension At Ferrum Headquarters in Schafisheim

08. Sep 2025

This past weekend, Ferrum celebrated a significant milestone: the official inauguration of its new headquarters building, ferruBase, at the Schafisheim site.

Over 1,000 guests from the Ferrum family – from the youngest relatives to retired employees – joined the celebration and experienced firsthand the impressive combination of modern architecture, advanced production facilities, and innovative workspaces.

Vertical production and innovative construction

With the new building, Ferrum intentionally implemented a vertical production structure, combining modern efficiency with minimal space usage. On approximately 14,000 m² of usable space, not only 240 new office workstations were created, but also cutting-edge production areas and a modern training workshop. This underscores Ferrum’s adaptability and innovative strength – values the company has embodied for over 100 years.

Expert tours offered behind-the-scenes insights

A highlight of the day was the expert tours, which provided employees, relatives, and guests with detailed insights into the architecture, construction, interior design, and the new machinery. The tours demonstrated how modern production processes, ergonomic office design, and the training workshop are seamlessly integrated. Visitors’ enthusiasm was palpable, with many impressed by the quality and level of innovation Ferrum implements at its Swiss site.

A celebration for the whole family

Culinary delights were also in abundance: several food trucks served burgers, pasta, veggie bowls, desserts, and other treats, while the bar offered something for every taste. For the younger guests, an engaging entertainment program with a bouncy castle and face painting kept everyone entertained. The atmosphere was joyful, the weather perfect, and all attendees could explore the new building in a relaxed, festive setting.

A clear commitment to Switzerland

The new building is more than just a workplace: it represents innovation, growth, and Ferrum’s commitment to the Aargau location and Switzerland. With this investment, Ferrum is not only creating modern production and workspaces but also securing the company’s long-term sustainability and employment opportunities.

Looking ahead

With ferruBase, Ferrum sends a clear signal for the coming decades: efficiency, quality, and innovation remain at the heart of its operations. At the same time, the extension demonstrates how tradition and modern technology can be successfully combined – a testament to how a company with over 100 years of history actively shapes its future.
