Pusher centrifuges
The new D-ACT® is launched on the market and enables to process twice the amount of solids.
Machines of the P series with diameters of 50 cm and smaller are also equipped with high-pressure hydraulics. This is possible thanks to the use of less oil and smaller idle power.

Scraper centrifuges
The CentriSense® camera system is an ATEX-certified digital solution from Ferrum, which makes it possible to control and optimize the centrifuge process automatically and according to the respective process conditions. This can reduce process time, increase production quality and improve reproducibility.

Horizontal scraper centrifuges
With the optimized design for chemical centrifuges, the leakage-free machine with lower maintenance also contributes to cost reduction thanks to the smaller footprint.

What was once a regional company grew into a global enterprise. With over 300 employees, Ferrum Packaging leads the global market. Not least because Ferrum Packaging focuses primarily on the sealing of cans. The former products fillers, destoning machines and sealing machines have disappeared from the current product portfolio. Instead, the product range includes low, medium and high-speed can seamers for all challenges in the beverage, food and can making industries.

Through continuous modernization and various expansion stages, Ferrum keeps its infrastructure up to date. It thus has state-of-the-art facilities and guarantees its employees excellent working conditions. Ferrum manufactures products in line with market requirements and maintains a unique global service organization. Ferrum is prepared for the challenges of the future - on behalf of our customers.

Through the purchase of the Brazilian Polypack Ltda., Ferrum strengthens its global presence and is now also represented in South America by its own subsidiary.

Ferrum Packaging launches a cooperation with KHS GmbH focused on beverages for the U.S. market.

This represents a significant growth step for Ferrum in the separation technology business.

At the same time, Ferrum is expanding its service center in the USA and its assembly plant in India

Ferrum launches the F400 can seamer series for the food market, with up to 12 seaming stations. The series becomes a resounding success.

Ferrum becomes the world market leader in seaming cans in the beverage market.

The F812 model combines the highest performance in the beverage sector with an unprecedentedly high level of hygiene.

Ferrum takes over the centrifuge division from Sulzer Escher Wyss with the complete product range of pusher and peeler centrifuges and, in addition, all employees with their many years of experience. This acquisition enables Ferrum to significantly expand its product range and centrifuge know-how.

Ferrum takes over the pusher centrifuges for the chemical industry and related process technologies from Sulzer Escher Wyss in the 1990s. In addition, HAPI (Highly Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) allows Centrifuge Technology to enter the market for the production of highly active substances.

The first pusher centrifuge with a diameter of 100 cm processes 75-85 tons of sea salt per hour .

Vertical scraper centrifuge
The new three-column centrifuge (DSZ) with bottom discharge ensures automatic continuous operation including solids discharge.

Horizontal scraper centrifuges
The horizontal scraper centrifuges are specialized in two fields of application: the chemical and the pharmaceutical design . While the chemical type is designed as a high-performance machine, the pharmaceutical design offers perfect cleaning possibilities. In addition, compared to the vertical centrifuges, smaller batch times are now possible thanks to shorter scraper times.

Ferrum launches its F706 and F708 models for the beverage industry, setting a uniquely high hygiene standard worldwide.

Pusher centrifuges
The higher hydraulic pressure on the P-series results in another increase in throughput. The smaller oil volumes also reduce idle loss at the same time.

Horizontal peeler centrifuges
The swiveling-in scraper knife on horizontal scraper centrifuges (Escher Wyss) results in a much more stable scraper knife action.

The further development of can seamers is being driven forward. The model F308 reaches an output of 600 cans per minute. For the time, this was groundbreaking and was considered the first high-performance machine ever.

Pusher centrifuges
The new P series increases the possible hydraulic pressure to 20 bar. This, together with the multi-stage capability, allows even larger throughputs.

For the first time, cans can be sealed under vacuum, thus achieving a very low residual oxygen value in the can.

The S series is introduced and is the first to feature multi-stage centrifuges. This makes it possible to achieve greater throughputs with lower push pressures.

With the introduction of a combined filling and seaming machine, a groundbreaking innovation succeeds. Already at this time, the current focus of the company Ferrum becomes apparent.

Development of FH can seamer. This machine serves as a basis for all later seamer generations.

Ferrum manufactures the first industrial centrifuges – top discharge centrifuges for the pharmaceutical and chemical industries.

Thus, Ferrum repeatedly launches new product ideas with great innovative strength, from which the current product range gradually develops. In the 1930s, these includ washing and ironing machines for large-scale laundries, washing centrifuges and the first chemical centrifuges, followed by car wash systems in the 1970s. The focus on the specific needs of customers and their implementation in reliable and economical products and services remains the basis of Ferrum's success to this day.

Can seamer No. 1 - the mother of all can seamers - is launched on the market and enables the seaming of food cans for the first time.

Ferrum’s success story begins in 1917. A small workshop with an iron foundry in Rupperswil, Switzerland starts producing simple filling, can seaming, and destoning machines. In 1923, the company is already owned by the current family of shareholders. This makes it possible to keep a steady hand and continuously follow two Ferrum principles from the start: Continuously optimizing products and services and consistently adjusting infrastructure to meet the latest requirements.
